Música. Eternity and a Day from the movie Aggelopoulos-
Rumi's
poems elegantly and consistently touch our inner being and inspire us to go
beyond our limitations towards the Divine.
The music: The credits do appear at the end of this video, but it is by the composer, Eleni Karaindrou, and is the theme music called "Eternity and a Day" from the movie, Aggelopoulos.
A note on the music: This entire video was constructed in silence-only the poem and the images were put together without my knowing what music would be the right one. The music is so important to the interpretation of these poems. Rather than reading them, the music is my voice. When I 'laid' this beautiful piece of music over the video it fit perfectly. Few edits were made to accomodate the images to fit the music. They seem to be made for each other.

Poema de los átomos ~ Rumi- 4
.16 min
O day,
arise!
The atoms are dancing.
Thanks to Him the universe is dancing.
The souls are dancing, overcome with ecstasy.
I'll whisper in your ear where their dance is taking them.
All the atoms in the air and in the desert know well,
they seem insane.
Every single atom, happy or miserable,
becomes enamored of the sun.
Of which nothing can be said.
Letra: Poema de los átomos, Yalal ad-Din Muhammad Rumi.
Música: Poem of the atoms, Armand Amar. BSO Bab'Aziz, el sabio sufí. http://www.armandamar.com/

Traducción
Y cuando me
ve en todo y ve todo en mí
Entonces nunca lo dejo, y él nunca me deja.
Y Él, que en esta unidad de amor, me ama en lo
que ve,
Dondequiera que este hombre puede vivir, en
verdad, Él vive Yo me.
Oh mis amigos "es nom dei" * Yo he

Khan Sahib y Krishna Das.
A DROP
OF THE OCEAN
This project was originally conceived as a recording of Ustad Khan performing traditional bhajans, solo on his signature sarangi-an intensely demanding and hauntingly beautiful classical Indian bowed instrument. But the recording took an unexpected turn in the studio, at Ustad Khan's insistence, to include a vocal call-and-response between Khan Sahib and Krishna Das. The result is an extraordinary conversation between two men coming from very different musical traditions, in the shared language of bhakti, of the heart.
In a continuing spirit of collaboration, Krishna Das later added readings of devotional texts in further response to the depth and sweetness of Khan Sahib's singing and playing, as additional "windows ... into the beauty that lies within." In its final form, the recording is a profound teaching on the nature of love, as well as an unforgettable listening experience.
