Coments-I have never seen such a dance style before. So peacefully, lovely and joyfully expression of the music and the dancers and the choreography...awsome! Also the costumes are nice! They make it look so easy i know it is difficult to perfoorm also i wonder if the drum are heavy and so that make the dance also more difficult apart from the choreography and the music....i love it. Thank you for sharing-impresionantemente bueno.

(KOREAN SHAMANIC DANCE)- 5.10 MIN

Coments-While salpuri is a part of Korea's shamanism, it should be translated as "exorcism" dance. It is done  to appease/placate spirits/souls who can't let go of this world and send them to the other world. What a perfect balance of control and grace. Her hands! I've never seen anything like it.- korean  salpuri shaman dance is to relieve the dead from haunting the living souls. created centuries if not a thousand years ago

Chuseok Celebration Performance at NCKTPA-Ganggangsullae(1)

The Folk Dance: Ganggangsullae... Ganggangsullae is a folk dance usually performed in the southern shore area on Hangawi day. Females usually participated in this dance in a way of finding bodily freedom and of escaping from all the restrictions in the past. The dance movements are simple; making circular motion, but the dance is also artistic. As the musical changes, the formation of dance changes frequently as well. Also, the dance shows the sound mind and sound body of Korean women.

Description: Ganggangsullae is a seasonal harvest and fertility ritual popular in the south-western part of the Republic of Korea, performed primarily on Koreas Thanksgiving in the eighth lunar month. Under a bright full moon, dozens of young, unmarried village women gather in a circle, join hands and sing and dance all night under the direction of a lead singer. During interludes, the women playfully mime vignettes reflecting life in a farm or fishing village, including treading on roof tiles, unrolling a mat, catching a mouse or tying herrings. The dance takes its name from the refrain repeated after each verse, although the exact meaning of the word is unknown. Once a rare break from restrictive rules governing the behaviour of rural young women who were not allowed to sing aloud or go out at night, except during the ''Chuseok'' Thanksgiving celebration, the ritual is mostly preserved today by middle-aged women in cities and taught as part of the music curriculum of elementary schools. Now practised as a performing art throughout Korea, it can be seen as a representative Korean folk art. It is an important hereditary custom drawn from the rice culture that pervaded daily life in the countryside. The easy tunes and movements can be learned quickly for this communal practice that contributes to harmony, equality and friendship among the women dancers.

Korea's Dance Company
The Bereishit Dance Company hopes of highlighting the beginning of everything and offering new sensations using uncomfortable and strange elements. Through the piece "_Balance & Imbalance," they depict dynamic and uncomfortable relationships where people have to adjust to each other, as opposed to calm and settled relationships, as well as the harmony between sound and body movements.

Thousand Hand Guan Yin was a dance created by Chinese choreographer Zhang Jigang. This dance was performed by 63 deaf dancers of China Disabled People's Performing Art Troupe. Because they could not hear the music, there were 6 directors in white cloths helping them synchronizing with the music. This dance described the legend that Bodhisattva Guan Yin has one thousand hands. Bodhisattva is a Proto-Buddha. She can not become a Buddha because she is still attached to this world. Her vow: If there is still a single drop of tear in this world, I will not become a Buddha.
